The engagement metric shows how often users interact with your brand on social media and includes likes, comments and repost of mentions.

This metric helps you to track what methods of promotion work good and what methods you can optimize.

The detailed analysis of these data will help you improve your brand and make it more visible for customers.

Net Sentiment Rate (NSR)

How it looks like in the Smelter.ai interface.

Net Sentiment Rate (NSR) is a sentiment ratio of mentions. This is one of the key metrics of the reputation management.

It helps you to determine the ratio of positive and negative mentions and shows the general sentiment of mentions.

The metric is calculated by the following formula:

The result is varied in a range from -100 to 100. Where 0 is neutral sentiment.

If the NSR value is more than 0, it can be considered as conditionally positive. The optimal value is ≥ 50. It means that your brand is perceived positively.

If the NSR value is less than 0, this could mean negative outweighs positive and the brand reputation is bad. It can cause distrust and your sales could be hurt.

Potential reach

The total number of posts and comments in which the brand was mentioned and the total number of non-unique users who visit the source and may potentially interact with your posts in any form.

Important: the number is approximate and could be more than today's total world population, because we count non-unique visits to all the sites in your project.

For example, the formula for calculating the social media potential reach looks like this:
